Reviews + Interviews

If interested in writing a review or interview for The Marrow, please query the editors by email. We are especially interested in forthcoming titles from small presses, BIPOC authors, and LGBTQIA+ authors. Let us know in your pitch if you would like us to request an ARC from the publisher. We do not accept completed reviews at this time.

ADDITIONAL INFO.

Response times + feedback

We aim to respond to all submissions as quickly as possible; however, note that every member of the editorial staff is a full-time educator / as well as writer. If you would like an expedited response, we offer a $5 tip jar submission option. If you would like editorial feedback, we offer a $10 tip jar submission option (PayPal brokenantlermagazine@gmail.com). Please indicate which option(s) you would like to select when sending payment.

NOTE: Please do not send $15 for expedited feedback. Due to the large volume of submissions sent our way, as well as the high quality of feedback we strive to offer, expedited feedback is not an option at this time.

Guidelines for formatting

Submissions should be attached in .DOC, .DOCX, .PNG, or .PDF formats. Prose submissions should be double-spaced, unless your work is intentionally experimenting with form. Preferred font is Garamond (TNR is cool too). If submitting multiple pieces, please include all work in one document.

Payment for contributors

Broken Antler is committed to paying writers and artists for their work. Individuals with work selected for Broken Antler’s print issue receive $20. We pay a token of $10 (per piece) for work published in our online venues. Payment is provided upon acceptance.

Thank you all for sharing your art with us—truly.
