Lady Eve 2.0

By Russell Nichols

“Hold me tight!” Eve 120 says to Adam 90 as a space anaconda slithers into the hull of a generation ship called Genesis. But no amount of covering each other could save them.

Eve 120 grabs Adam 90’s hand and dashes to her cryopod to hide. Remembering these are single-person pods, Adam 90 pushes Eve 120.

The woman falls.

“It is good for the man to be alone,” Adam 90 says, but screams devour his words as the creature seizes every single Adam aboard, himself included—after which Eve 120 looks the snake in its eyes and says: “Good girl.”
